A music festival which will be aimed at young people in Chester-le-Street has received a cash bonus thanks Cestria Community Housing.

The Chester-le-Street based housing association has donated £5,000 to help fund the ChesterFest music festival which will be held at Riverside Park on Saturday 14 August 2010.

The ChesterFest concept has been developed by young people for young people aged 13-21 and a total of 18 local school and youth bands will play a mix of music across two stages.

The ‘alcohol free’ event, which has been funded and supported by the Chester-le-Street Area Action Partnership is expected to attract 2,000 young people from the town and surrounding areas and tickets are priced at £5.00 available from the Durham Gala Theatre ticket office.
